Currently I have the Cortex hair straightener. It doesn't work very well for my hair type and it takes some time to straighten; when I go outside it immediately goes wavy. I'm looking for a hair straightener that will keep my hair pin-straight and is good for curly not just wavy hair. I've heard people recommend the GHD but they are very expensive and some people say they don't last very long. So something for less than 150$ please. Any answers appreciated.

I used regular drugstore hair straighteners for the longest time, and they would all rip my hair as I pulled it down or crack them off at the ends. Having curly hair myself, I've learned that not only is having the right straightener important, but having the right products is even more important!
Splurge and buy yourself a CHI. They heat up super fast and the ends of the plates are smooth, so when you run it over a chunk of hair, your ends won't get stuck in the cracks and rip off (split ends... errrrgh.)
Products are what will keep your hair from going wavy so quickly, so use a heat protectant. Look for one that has a heat-activated style holder in it... most do. Whether you want a spray on or a cream, that's up to you. Try looking at any drugstore or a place like Target to find one you like. The brand doesn't have that much of an impact.
If you get the CHI, it comes with a little bottle of Silk Infusions. Rub that over your hair EVERY TIME you straighten it. It will make it so soft and smooth... it's amazing. If you don't get the CHI, they carry the Silk Infusion at a lot of places like Rite Aid or Ulta. It's about $20 though and it's a small bottle, but you literally use three or four drops so it's not that bad and totally worth it.
And..... the miracle cream... John Frieda Wind-Down temporary relaxer. It's in a light purple bottle. I can't even tell you how amazing it is. I have Taylor Swift ringlets, so my hair is super hard to blow dry straight. When I put about a quarter sized amount of this in my hair, it takes me about ten minutes to blowdry and I barely need to straighten it. SO GO GET IT RIGHT NOW and you'll see how amazing it is. Every person with curly hair should have this... I can't believe I didn't find it sooner haha.

Well, my friend has wavy hair and she uses the chi to straighten her hair. And She wont have to straighten her hair for like 3 days, she will just touch it up a little in the morning an it will be fine.
If you get a chance, can you answer my question? thanks :)
