Well after high school i really badly want to go into cosmotology to become a make-up artist for like movie stars and models and celebritys etc. But i am like totally shy and get real nervous around people and im not that inteligent or bright either. I dont think im pretty either and im worried that if i become a makeup artist then people wont take me serious in life like they would take serious in life if someone was a lawyer or a doctor or a teacher or a counselor or a therapist or accountant or nutritionst you know someone who has a normal serious job. I dont think i have the look either to be a makeup artist i dont think im that pretty i mean when i wear make-up to school i have more guys talikng to me then when i dont wear any make-up. I mean i dont think im ugly looking i just think im average ok looking and kinda dull and boring. But its always been a dream of mine to make people look beautiful because i never felt beautiful and i really want to do this really badly and make other people look beautiful and myself as well. What should i do?

Don't doubt yourself. You know how many people are out there just wishing they could have followed their dream? but if your scared take it as your major in college and then take something else as a minor it could never hurt to have a back up just in case your gut was right. And you don't need guys to talk to you to make you feel beautiful. just know your self and know that you are Beautiful. You might see the most beautiful girl walking down the street but you would never guess that the had Absolutely noting going for her besides her looks. She might have dreams but never pursued them. Go For Your Dream!!!! And if its wat you love people will look at you seriously because its your dream and you followed it. : ) Hope this helps

Why would you ask yourself all those things?
The only thing that matters is to follow your dreams.
Why would you let your dream be ruined just because you might be shy or not have the looks?
You should try first. And even then if you will find out it's not the right thing for you, you at least tried it and won't regret it.When one door closes another one opens.

Just go for it. You can do anything you set your mind to. You need some self confidence, but that will come as you mature. Looks don't have anything to do with you being successful or not. As for putting yourself down for not being intelligent or bright enough, and too shy? That is a low self-esteem issue. So work on liking yourself. You need to work on your internal qualities because those are the qualities that will last a lifetime.
Determination will get you farther in life than looks. Also, not all celebrities are classic beauties, but they have qualities which make them attractive. Once you have a skill, you will be more confident and less nervous around people.
Good luck with whatever you decide to pursue!

Well, makeup appication is like art! Some people have the natural skill, some do not. And some people are just good at doing their own makeup. I think you should try to do some makeup on your friends, maybe take a basic class or something. Beauty schools can be incredibly expensive, and many of them require you to take other classes aside from makeup artistry. Also, keep in mind that not everyone in the field has gone to school for it. A lot of people just kind of fall into the career. I think you should see if you have the natural skill for it, and proceed from there. I will tell you that your appearance doesn't necessarily matter, as long as you are good at what you do.

When you do job you love and you are good at, your confidence will rise to the stars, trust me:)
You'll become beautiful to yourself and not dull and boring. Shyness will disappear as well. If you do job well you'll be taken for serious! Good looks is overrated! Confidence is what makes women happy! Just follow your dream and everything will come to placePosted 2 years ago # -
you should definitely follow your dream. first of all, it's just silly thinking that you wouldn't get enough attention only because of looks(even though I'm sure you're pretty), besides, I've seen lot's of not-so-attractive make-up artists, but guess what? they're very confident and that's what makes them attractive, and second, you can go to those courses that help with communicating with people and stuff, or just get more friends, talk with people more, so that you get used to it. good luck! ;)

First you should really take a good look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that only you can make yourself happy and beautiful on the inside and the outside.
If you are ugly on the inside, than you ugly on the out!Now on to you dream, YES go for it, if you have talent and extreme skill your looks will not matter!
Are you any good? If you are why would you want to keep your talent hidden from others.
With hope and encouragement, you will get over your insecurities and be able to mentor to someone who feels the same way you do!If you dont stand for what you want than no one else will! I dont care what anyone looks like, if they have talent I want them painting my face and cutting my hair!
PS I am sure that you are really an attractive person who need a self esteem boost!

Well when you go into cosmetology school there is going to be alot of interacting like with the students and clients you will have.
At first you are going to be shy cuz you are new and probably wont know nobody just like evryone else there.
you will be practicing on eachother and then eventually you will be working with real paying clients that will be getting there hair, makeup , and nails done. so this will help you with your confidence trust me cuz you will be getting used to talking to strangers.Posted 2 years ago # -
go for it, it's your passion! Stop doubting yourself.
