i have mentioned MAC to her and she just pushes it away. all she relies on is drugstore makeup! she has the same brush for like two years now! But now im interested in purchasing some products from MAC and everytime i try togo over to a MAC counter and try to look she always like " come on lets go!" and when i try to talk about it shes always saying "no you dont need any makeup blah blah blah" i have my own money its not like iam relying on her credit card!!!!

Im 13 but i wasnt planning on getting tons and tons of makeup i was just planning on getting a blush and like 1 or 2 eyeshadows just to try them out!

I love MAC cosmetics! How old are you? If you have your own money, go for it. Just make sure you get make up that can be worn in several different occasions.
I suggest getting the eye shadows:
Woodwinked
Vanilla
Sable or EspressoGet neutrals to begin your MAC collection and as you get more into venture out into the poppy-bright in your face colors! :)
Also, if you take good care of your make up brushes most of them will last more than two years!! :o)
Maybe try telling your Mom that it's great that she likes drugstore make up, but you want to try MAC. To each their own, right?

Maybe she doesn't want you to waste your money on it. Mac is fun....but seriously, if I'm going to buy make up that expensive I would go for a higher quality like Dior or Benefit. They charge a lot for it and it's pretty comparable to drug store make ups, quite honestly. Just because it's expensive, doesn't mean it's good. You're mom is more than likely trying to convey to you that there are more important things to spend money on rather than expensive make up. She's the adult and you are the child and I know this wont make a difference to you now but when you are older you'll look back and realize that she was right.

If you have your own money, buy it on your own.
You can't expect your mother to want to buy expensive makeup for you if she doesn't even buy it for herself. Go to the mall with some friends and then buy things from the counter.
It might even frustrate your mother more if you spend your money buying prestige cosmetics when she doesn't spend her money on them, I'm assuming you're young, in school, and rely on her for transportation, and in which case, shes probably subliminally trying to send you a message to not spend all of your money on make up, which makes sense, she wants you to learn the value of a dollar, but ultimately, where there is a will there is a way. MAC is EXTREMELY expensive
i hate it
its stage makeup so its not everyday makeup
drugstore makeup is still good, dont just push it away
i mean, £12.50 is really expensive for a lipstick

Theres a lot of good makeup you can get at drugstores if you shop around..but try to convince your mom that you want to try something new and it's your money to choose what to spend it on. Maybe she doesn't want to wait for you to look and shop around the mac makeup. Mac makeup is very expensive and you should think carefully before you buy some. At sephora and ulta they have samples you can ask one of the people who work there to help you try it on. Maybe you can tell your mom she can shop at a different store (if your at the mall) nearby or a different section of the store (depending where you are) Also, how old are you? because she might not want you to try it until you are older and know enough about makeup to make your own decisions. Mac is good, but I also like urban decay. Hope I helped :)

There's so many reasons!! Fist of all MAC makeup is so much healthier for you skin than any makeup you can buy at wal mart or a drug store. It won't make you break out, and it doesn't make it look like you caked on a ton of makeup because you dont have to. When you buy cheap makeup you have to put on so much to cover anything and it makes you look fake and disgusting. Since MAC is so much better, you only need a tiny bit and it's hard to even tell you're wearing any makeup at all. I'm sure she's worried about the price, but in the end it's worth it. You won't use as much so you won't buy it as much and since it doesnt make your face oily or dry it out, you won't need to buy acne cleansers or expensive moisturizer. If she still doesn't listen to you i would save up money and get it yourself. Or maybe you could convince her to get it for herself and once she realizes how amazing it is she won't make you use cheap stuff!! lol good luck, i really hope you can convince her!

Thats not fair tbh..Your mum should let you spend your money on what you want-within reson. I love mac and okay its expensive but really good quality. but i also use loads of good drugstore products which are good..if you like a product thats drugstore dont just but a mac one coz its mac. Also dont buy thier macaras :L Just say to you mum why wont you let me. Ask can you just try out a few products and also if you have your own money, just do it.

If you really want to try Mac makeup I suggest you have a sit down with your mom about how you want to try some high end makeup. Do it at the right time though because if you don
t shell just say no.For instance, if you are rushing past the Mac counter and your mom is in a hurry to go do something else, she`ll probably just be annoyed and not even consider it.

s okay to have a mix of both drugstore and high end, as long as you dont go nuts and keep buying the high end stuff. Just tell her you want a little bit of both because you want to add to your makeup collection.Good luck, hope I helped.

Wow... honestly, I don't think you need MAC makeup at 13. Everyone above is right. Your mom is not letting you buy it because it's too expensive, it's not everyday natural makeup, etc.
