Need some help, do you reckon a fringe + spikes (at the back/top) combo looks good (im a boy,17) and some dyied hair (blond bits if im dark blond)

What do you need to ask your hairdresser to get a spikable style but without cutting too much hair? Layer it? dunno
(Not talkin about wild spikes, either a small natural crest, or small spikes, and the back of the head spiked up)

spikes are stupid, if you have the hair grow it out, if not then cut it into a non military looking shortcut

ask your hairdresser for layered, with hair longer at the front, and shorter as it goes back, 1-inch hair at the top back ( you can make the spikes yourself in the 1-inch hairs), and side swept bangs to complete the look

If you want it spiked, try using a clay or wax instead of gel. I went to school with a guy who gelled his hair to the point it could pop a balloon. It looked like it would snap in half if you tried to move it. My favorite thing to use is Moving Rubber Spiky Edge from Gatsby. You get all of the spiky, but none of the crispy.

As for what to ask for at the salon, a lot of people just bring pictures of styles they like. You may want to look at styles from Korea and Japan because there are some awesome spiky ones that can work with hair that's a bit longer. Though most of them look best with straight hair, so if you've got waves or curls it can be a lot of work.
