I've tried all different shades of blonde highlights, it was fun for a while but I got sick of it. Now I'm back to my natural dark brown-ish color and I need a change. I'm in the mood for a new look and I want to go lighter. Any suggestions from anyone with similar hair or opinions would be great!

Have you tried Low- lights. They could add Auburn, this would add great dimension and shine. And the Auburn looks gorgeous with green eyes. I would also suggest you have a Gloss applied to the areas not being colored. It is applied like a tint, done at the same time and processed for the same amount of time, the results are crazy beautiful. No color change, just amazing shine. They can also add the gloss to the auburn to boost the shine there too.
Lighter is fun in the summer, but harder to keep up with. Many times people forget the low light option. Once they have it done they love it! Low lights are easier on your hair because they don't have to lift or bleach any color from your hair, they just add color. This way your hair stays much healthier and shinier.
But there is nothing wrong with adding both high and low lights at the same time. Just remember that the bleach strips a lot from your hair.
After you have either done, please invest in a good shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair.
Redken and Matrix Biologe both have amazing lines.
