You have to let your mother know that you are just being you.
My mother would not let me get clothes form Hot Topic either.
But if she is a good mother she will let you be who you want to be as long as she knows what you are doing. If you have short hair, get extensions, it's a must.
View videos on YouTube to get that perfect make-up look
Here are some good ones:
1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEt9djkRWYE
2.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_GVkkXaqnQTease your hair like a mad women, do the make up and convince your mother to let you get the clothes.
Think Hello Kitty
Bands (scene)
Bright colorsYour too young for piercings!
Good luck! :)Posted 2 years ago # -
WANNABE!!! People who say they are scene or say that they are 'deciding to turn scene' are not scene they are just wannabe's and posers. Therefore you never were emo and your not scene either. Pathetic.

Thats an extreme change for your friend dont you think?
If you have to change for her then shes not much of a friend for making you.
But a hairstyle option could be this:

This is a shining example of why my hatred for people is justified.

I'm sorry, I genuinely have no idea what 'scene' is. Maybe that's because I'm British. Or maybe because I'm not some sad loser who desperately wants to fit in, even when 'fitting in' just means conforming to somebody else's ideals.
Also, you sound extremely chipper for somebody who was supposedly 'emo'. I dont think that you were doing it right.

Woaah calm the fcck down. most people who ARE emo dont go around saying... " IM EMO!"
i agree with your mum, your trying to be someone your not. Seirously, your 13 for god sake. Stay away from peircings and hair dye until your atleast 15. Wouldnt you hate it if your 'bffl' decided she didnt want to be scene anymore, and here you are with your black, purple and blue hair and 1000 facial peircings. Be yourself! xPosted 2 years ago # -
Wow, Just wow.

Be yourself! My friends use to be scene and they had emo friends no need to change.
But if you do like the scene you need to wear colourful clothes and tight jeans and keep back combing your hair! go on google and type in scene

Dude, you're 13! This is the time where you're supposed to be yourself not somebody else!

This message was an endless source of amusement. My 13 year old sister despairs me as she is 'scene' and it makes me really uncomfortable to see how much of a sheep she is. Your mum is right. You are trying to dress to fit in with a crowd of people when you should just learn to dress in a way that expresses your personality. You may feel your personality suits scene and you've gravitate towards that style but when anyone copies someone else it means they ignore any other possible style option. Trust me, I was a classic 'mosher' for a while in my teens and now that I'm in my early 20s I have discovered that you can still wear a bit of high street and then sometimes wear something 'goth' or 'emo' if you feel you really like it.
And be really careful dying your hair. As a veteran 'hair dyer', if you die your hair all over you could ruin it especially with the amount of colours. My sister luckily already has black hair so she's not went down that godawful route but in my experience and hers blue and purple hair dye turn white very quickly (and red fades fast). You're only 13 and you're going to give your mother a fit if you try to do half of the things you suggest. For a start, you have to be 16 to get a belly button and lip piercing. And don't try to get it done homemade unless you want infections, etc.
I know this is not the answer you want to hear but your friends should love you without all the piercings and stuff. You don't need those to look cool (I always thought Hayley from Paramore was pretty and she seems more individual). But if you're going to dye your hair like that or anything like you're suggesting you're going to need lots of money to maintain it to keep it looking good.

Don't do it! Seriously, you're only gonna look back at yourself when you're grown up and have your OWN style and laugh at yourself. All you do is copy and follow others trends.. Just to fit in. That's no way to live.
