It's been 3 weeks since i got my belly button pierced. It is redish-purple around the wholes (not TOO bad or noticable).

It hurts the next day if i sleep on my stomach at night. No puss or blood at all though. I'm nervous because i'm going to have to take it out for sports and such in the summer. Thanks a lot!

Discoloration is normal for a navel piercing. It can be reddish, pinkish, or even white. Tenderness is normal if you sleep on it also, or if you injure it. For sports, you can wear a clear retainer. Just remember to keep your hands off of it, wash your hands before you clean it, and if you are concerned, go to your piercer and ask for advice. They will gladly take a look at it for you!

No, when i got mine pierced the same thing happened and i was in the same position because of my horse back riding and basketball. but my mom even took me to a doctor and he said that that was normal but keep your piercing and your pierced area very clean so it doesnt get infected.

Sounds kind of normal. But you need to avoid sleeping on it...

If you're going to have to take it out during the summer a lot then you need to just take it out and let it heal, get it during a better time. It's not going to be completely healed by June or July and you're going to irritate the crap out of it by taking the jewelry out and putting it back in all the time, might even infect it.
