OK... So... In order to get my hair like this....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTmxs16mBVo

Or something sort of similar to this.... Someone told me I need to layer my hair.
This is what my hair looks like normally.... Keep in mind... The pictures are not really profession and I'm not 'good looking'. But, focus on the hair... =P

My hair is naturally curly... Being the Italian that I am... (I wish I was Asian... They are so much cooler... D= )

Anyways... They is what it looks like when I straightened my hair.

Anyways... I want to know what layering your hair is, first off...

Second... If I can pull it off with my hair being naturally curly... Or if it will just look really uneven...

And lastly... Of course... Comparing the pictures to the video... My hair needs to grow quiet a bit until I can fully do that sort style... But... Will it work? With my hair straightened.... It would seem to work... But I'm here to learn... Thanks.

Oh... And one last thing... Can you see if you can find any pictures of before and after of layered hair so I can get an idea of what it really means?

    Thanks sooooo much!!!

    Hey Jake!
Okay, so let's try to answer your question:

Layering hair: This is when you cut some of your hair shorter and leave a lot of hair longer - the longer hair stil keeps up the length, while the shorter hair gives your hair the look to have more volume. All in all this is what Asian Hairstyles makes so different from others: Asian Guys with these longer hair like in your youtube video usually have layered hair. To layer your hair I highly recommend you to get it done professionally at a hairstylist. If you do it on your own you can ruin your hairstyle.

I think it won't be a problem to straighten your hair in order to get this hairstyle. But straigthening your hair everyday will be a bit annoying. Therefore you can think about straightening your hair chemically, so then it's straightened permanently. This is a youtube video where you can see the procedure of doing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8bl1lNAzQM (also there's a second part so just click onto it then)

I think your hair is not too short by now. If you let it grow out for about say 2 months or something it should be fine for the style you want to achieve.

And last but not least, I didn't find any pictures of layered hair before-after, so this is just one picture of a boy with layered hair: http://www.emohaircutstyles.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/layered-emo-hair-330x440.jpg
It's just a random picture, but I think you can see that some strands are cut shorter and others longer. This is what layered means.

I hope I helped and I wish you good luck to achieve the hairstyle you want.

Layering hair is cutting the hair so it can be the same length all the way around, usually keeping the length. Curly hair can be layered too. You can achieve this hair style by growing it out a little more and straightening it. You will need to use a good straightening product and a strong hairspray.

This is the best example I can find.
