Maybe obvious make up questions?

(4 posts)
  1. I have an urge to be really cute for my boyfriend tomorrow. so I have some questions that I'm sure I know the answers to, or maybe even do actually know but just want to get some other opinions/advice/answers...thank you
    10 pts best answer :)

    1. what is a lash comb?
    2. how do I use it?
    3. my mascara is the kind with the bendy brush, how can i use that to make my eyelashes really long and like where they touch my upper lids when opened-if that makes sense, i have always thought that was cute. Ps. I have an eyelash curler. ideas?
    4. are you supposed to wear mascara on bottom lashes? I've heard both answers
    5. I have blue eyes, what eye shadow colors would work best with that?
    6. I don't use one color shadow on my whole lid, I take a color nd put it on kinda like a line like you would with eyeliner. in your opinion does that look good?
    7. Sometimes I also will take a dark color shadow and line in on my lid then take a softer color and use that on the remainder lid..what do you think of that?
    8. is there anything i can put on my face (mainly around the eyebrows, nose, and cheeks) before I put on my powdered foundation (LA colors)? because I have kinda dry skin but I also like to cover up a little even though it rubs off by the end of the day sometimes. I prefer powder over liquid
    9. how can i keep my eyeliner on my waterline from rubbing off by mid-day?
    10. should i go across the whole waterline with eyeliner or just from middle to outer corner?
    11. how do I "bump" the bangs that frame my face without making them uneven?

Sorry that was long-and i'm sure I have many more ?'s but I wont kill you by asking them all. I know the answer to most of these, but just want [polite] opinions and advice. Thank you :)

    1. lash combs are used to get the clumps off of your eyelashes after you put mascara on.
    2. brush your eyelashes before mascara, and then after (before it dries fully).
    3. Hmm... put mascara on holding the brush horizontally, then go over and do it vertically on each lash.
    4. I always have. I guess it's what you're comfortable with, and if you really have many bottom lashes in the first place.
    5. Neutral colors, greys, greens, or purples.
    6. Do you do wet the brush before you put the eyeshadow on it? If not, that would probably make the eyeshadow stand out a whole lot more and look like eyeliner. I hope you aren't lining all around your lids with black eyeliner, (this may be just my opinion) it looks horrible on people. Makes your eyes look smaller.
    7. Going from light on the inside of your lid to dark on the outside of your lid will make your eyes look farther apart and your eyelashes look bigger. It's a good idea.
    8. I am not sure about powder, but normally face moisturizer/lotion helps make your face more tolerant and smooth when the rest of the makeup goes on. Get stuff that doesn't have oil in it to moisturize and avoid breakouts.
Also, I don't normally wear makeup anymore, but when I do, I use mineral makeup, which is light and is pretty good coverage-wise.
    9. Get better eyeliner or put the same shade eyeshadow over it. I have the same problem but with my eyelids in general, because I've got squinty asian eyes :|
    10. If it's liquid eyeliner, you could do either, but with regular eyeliner, it may be better to to just do middle to outer.
    11. Are you talking about straight across bangs? All you really have to do is curl them with a curling iron, I dunno...

    1. It helps even out your eyelashes and removes excess mascara after applying it.

    2. Once you have applied the mascara, use it the same way you did your mascara brush.

    3. Start as close to your eyelid as possible. Wiggle it a lot. Then slowly slide toward tips of eyelashes. Repeat if desired.

    4. I recommend yes. Not as heavy as the bottom as the top though. It balances the eyes and gives a well-rounded look.

    5. Brown and perhaps a light pink...depending on the shade.

    6. Depending on the color. Most of the time yes :)

    7. I think that looks better than #6

    9. Try other eyeliners. Also try to not rub it during the day :)

    10. Go all the way across.

    11. If you take your straightener and sort of curl them under. Then lightly spray to the direction and how much lift you desire

    :) Hope this helped!
