(4 posts)
  1. Okay guys so im 14, yes, 14 i don't know if you will say 14 is to younge for a belly button ring? But it is for my 15th birthday. So i have a few questions;

    1. Does it actually hurt, i have been looking at youtube videos and they dont seem to be phased by it? Did you think it hurt? I know it is different for everyone, but usually does it hurt?

    2. Any info on looking after it, you cant go in chlorine can you?

    3. I also think it is interesting how people say it hurts more when your skinnier? My friend Jordie got it done and she is super skinny? & she said it doesnt hurt much?

    4. What does it feel like, just a pinch, like when you get a needle? Try and explain it haha

Try and answer as many questions as you can :)

No rude or nasty comments im not interested in having a fight with you. Thanks heaps xxx

I had my belly button pierced about a year ago now also for my 15th birthday and to be honest with you whether it hurts or not really does depend from person to person. When you go they will put a clamp thing (don't know the exact name sorry) on your stomach and for me this hurt more then the actual needle. For me I didn't think it was that bad it hurts a tiny bit more then getting your ears pierced. I thought it was worse afterwards when you accidently touch it, because mine was quite sore after
If you go to a pharmacy or a decent shop to get it done usually they will tell you exactly what you need to do to look after it. For me I was told to put on a solution regularaly to prevent it from getting infected. If they don't give it to you, you can probably buy it somewhere else it's just like the stuff you get when you have your ears pierced. It's best not to go swimming or get chlorine near it because that will infect it and they tell you in the shop not too.
I'm quite skinny and I didn't think it hurt at all but I guess if your fatter then there's more fat to pierce through.
A lot of people tell you it hurts loads and its really likely to get infected and stuff but i'm sure you'll find its not as bad as everyone makes out =) and i think it looks good!! so for me it was worth it.
    Hope this helps

    1. i had mine done when i was 13 im now 16 so i don't think your too young to have it done. for me i didnt feel it at all i asked them if they were going to start and the piercer told me they wer screwing the ball on. most of my friends who have had it done say that it just feels likea sharp pinch.

    2. salt water is good, use a cotton bud everyday to remove crusty scabs that can form. dont pick at it or touch it too mch thou as that can cause infection and as for chlorine they tell you not to go in public pools because of the bacteria that in the pool thats come off over people but i still went swimming in a public pool about three days after i had it done.

    3. not true. it all depends on how much pain you can take as a person.

    hope i could help!!

  4. Going by what my friends say (most of them have their belly pierced) it hurts. It is also one of the most common piercings to get infected.

Your piercest will provide you with an aftercare sheet, they often sell cleaning products for piercings too although personally I use warm salt water because I'm allergic to that stuff.

Pain is a completely personal thing, if you have a high pain threshold then you'll be fine. Also it depends on the piercest and their abilities.

The needle going through at first might feel like a pinch but then the pain will turn to a burning sensation.
