shop owners and their workers are talking about you while they are doing your nails and feet? I mean every time I go I just get the feeling that all their chattering (in the native language) and laughing may just be that they are really talking something awful about their customers. That would be so rude and mean if they are talking about their customers especially ones who leave generous tips every time. I think I am going to invest in learning their language so when I go in the shop I can tell them in their language that I understood every thing that they had just said about me and the other patrons.

well learning another language would be an investment, & it would be interesting to see what they are saying. I say go for it, & good luck on it. language can be hard at time.

I don't really give a damn, they're the ones earning minimum wage.

stop being so paranoid. they see hundreds of people a day, i highly doubt they bother talking about you.
this said, learning their language would be good for other reasons. it's a good skill, and it can be put on your CV to help you get other jobs.

They're probably talking of all the paranoid, crazy-eyed, nosy customers they get on a regular basis.
Honestly? I don't care. As long as they do their job, they'll get a tip, and I'll leave as happy as can be. If you've never worked in customer service, you obviously don't know how aggravating customers can be and I'm POSITIVE that speaking badly of rude customers is a common thing in nail salons just like it is in every other customer-related service.
