Alcohol dries your hair out terribly. Also removes some hair color. Your best bet would be to use Herbal Essences. Or maybe if you feel like spending some money, Aussie or Garnier. Do NOT use Pantene. Pantene has a lot of wax which builds up on your hair. It also makes it fall out. Sulfates are pretty harsh... So is bleach and dish soap.

That might help a little. Good luck.

I wouldn't use regular rubbing alcohol on my hair if I were you. It is veery drying to the hair and scalp.
If you strip all the oil from your scalp, then your body will start producing more oil to replace it and since the body doesn't have a shut off mechanism to stop oil production, you will end up with oilier hair than what you started out with.

got that from a websiite (:

i suggest herbal eccences...i use 'drama clean'.

I've used nothing but cheap shampoos in my whole life time, except Paul Mitchell when they gave me a sample, and it left a hard to clean ring on my tub. If that's what it'll do to my tub, then I don't want that on my hair.

Drug store hair products go in a very strict rules & regulations to be sold to consumers, and are approved by the FDA, otherwise they'd be out of business.

Suave, Alberto Vo5, Aussie, Herbal Essence. When my hair was permed & dyed. It does make my hair oily on the 2nd day, now, so I'm not even gonna go there.

Garnier for Normal Hair. It lathers faster than any, so I use very little, enough to cover hair down to my knees. I stack up when they're $2.99 or with a rebate which is about $1 at Rite-Aid.

Even the most expensive shampoo has chemicals. Natural shampoo, cost most, they stink bad, I took mine back, and I got it for free from SIL who works at health store. People still get allergic to natural brand. Remember Poison Oak is natural. FDA don't even make them follow regulations but as soon as people starts complaining, they will get recalled. So many of them out there, FDA can't investigate and they have no manpower. Many salons get theirs in bulk, so it's cheaper than you think, and many from out of the state, where the FDA don't get them approved, (like China made) but that's where they get their profits from.

Every shampoo has basically the same ingredients, just like toothpaste, the only diff. is the different perfumes added.

i like TRESemme smooth and silky. it makes my hair feel really soft and it's easy to brush through when i get bedhead. it's mildly cheap between $3 and $5. note:it only makes your hair soft if you buy the conditioner....which costs the same. i bought it and put a pump in it and each shower i take i use 2 or 3 pumps and i use it for a month then get a new bottle. it does have A lot of ingredients but isn't tested on animals. i wouldn't be able to tell u harsh chemicals but i know that there's no alcohol in the shampoo so it could possibly be bad for hair

however, my mother uses avon advanced techniques moisture sleek. she absolutely loves it. there's no alcohol in it and you can buy it pretty cheap like $ . it's not as big as tresemme and i personally never used it so i don't have a personal opinion on it. both of these shampoos have a fragrance and make your hair smell if u even care. if u don't need straight hair but u need dandruff shampoo or something, then both company's have other types to support your hair. however i was observing the avon bottle and it didn't mention if it was tested on animals or not.

  8. Vo5 is the best shampoo to use if you are in a tight budget. If you don't want your hair to frizz up when you go outside try avoiding shampoos and conditioners that have water in them.

BTW: Alcohol is bad for your hair and make cuase it to fall off
