Why do some sunscreens make my face darker and some do not make it darker?

    I have a question why is it that some sunscreens like bannana boat especially make my skin very dark after I apply them and when I use nutragina my skin is normal light color? It does not have to do with the sbf being higher eithe because they are both the same number sbf I think titanium and zink based ones will not make the skin darker, but why? I cannot find this answer anywhere. Like I said they both have the same sbf number so that is not the answer.
