i simply cannot wear eye makeup like some people can and look good. why is this? i know how to put it on,...i've also had girls put it on me at the mall at the Chanel and MAC counters and still it looks funny. it only looks okay if i use one lighti color all over the lid. i can't do multiple colors and do the dark in the crease stuff. any suggestions or comments?

just don't wear eye makeup. you don't need outrageous, dark makeup to look good.

It's just the shape of your eyes, maybe they're different to each other or maybe you have heavy eyelids and make up seems to weigh them down more.
But don't take this as a bad thing. If you look prettier without make up on a lot of girls will envy that. Some are really paranoid about taking theirs off because they can't stand to see themselves without it, and trust me that's far more problematic.
If I were you I'd experiment with eye make up a lot. (If you'd really like to wear it). Try working out if your eyes are uneven (taking pictures will help) and maybe do your make up slightly unevenly to co-ordinate with this. Or just try out different products, e.g. kohl vs liquid liner, light mascara vs thick, heavy mascara etc

Here's the reason why, I don't think its becuase makeup looks ridiculous on you. Different eye makeup styles suite different eye shapes and sizes. It's not a one look fit all. Don't trust or expect the the girls at the Chanel and MAC counters to do your eye makeup according to what best fits your features. I personally have (not to brag) big, beautiful almond shaped eyes that do not need a lot of makeup to enhance and make them pop out. I went to Mac and the girl who did my eye makeup seriously made me look scary looking. I didn't want to offend her by cleaning it off after she spent the time doing it so I put on my sunglasses as soon as I walked off. depends on your face and eye shape. also on how old you are. really heavy eyeshadow looks weird on young or young looking girls. i have a bit of that problem myself. i'm kinda gothy, but i can't pull off super heavy eye makeup (at least not the way most girls can). i usually have to stick to a little bit of a darker color at the edges of my eyes, very slightly blended towards the middle, with a very light shade at the middle of my eye and in the inside corners. i compensate by very slightly lining my upper lid with a bit of the same eyeshadow color and then applying liquid eyeliner over that. i only line my lower lids at the very outer corners usually.
